Students

In joining Jatched, we trust that you will conduct yourself with integrity and respect, both for yourself, your peers, our team, and those with whom you make transactions. We trust that you will behave in a manner that is conducive to an honest, safe, and productive environment both on our website and on the site of your job. Remember that you are representing your school, your peers, and most importantly, yourself.

Simply put, if you do not speak Swahili, do not claim that you do. If you are uncomfortable babysitting children under the age of five, then do not agree to. We assure you that we will do our best to help you find another way to use your skills and hobbies to make some extra money, and make it fast.

  1. You agree to, contact the person with whom you have agreed to work, at least five hours prior to the agreed start time, and let them know that you are no longer available. Or, you may contact your employer in advance at a time that is mutually agreeable.
  2. You agree to be honest about your skills, realistic capabilities, and about your availability.
  3. You agree to be responsible with, and reachable via, your cell phone and email, just as you would be with a conventional part-time job or an internship.
  4. You agree to report to us any serious wrongdoing on the part of the employer in a way that is constructive and honest, so that we can address and correct the problem. "Wrongdoing" on the part of the employer does not include being marginally late, doling out pay that you think is unfair (you have pre-agreed to the pay you will receive.) We ask that you use your best judgment.

Remember, we are looking out for your interests, and trying to make your life easier! We have a zero tolerance policy for web and on-job-site conduct that is commercially, sexually, and/or illegally solicitous; 1. we care sincerely for your safety and quality of life as it relates to our site, and that of other students and employers who are using the site, 2. the point of our site is so that you do not have to weed through garbage that falls into either category simply to find a paying part-time or one-time job. If you are aware of any commercially, sexually, and/or illegally solicitous content that you believe has not yet come to our attention, it is our expectation that you will notify us so that we may take appropriate action against those involved.

In order to ensure that Jatched is able to provide high quality services which are responsive to customer needs, you must consent to Jatched employees being able to access your account and records to investigate complaints or other allegations or abuse. Jatched shall not disclose the existence or occurrence of such an investigation unless required by law. Violation of terms of service may result in immediate deletion of a user’s account.

Employers

In joining Jatched, we trust that you will conduct yourself with integrity and respect, both for yourself, our community, and those with whom you make transactions. We trust that you will behave in a manner that is conducive to an honest, safe, and productive environment both on our website and on the site of your job that you are providing. Having joined our site, we appreciate and acknowledge that you clearly value and respect students enrolled in institutions of higher learning.

  1. You agree to be clear, specific, and realistic about your needs. If you are having trouble wording your posting in a way that you believe is satisfactory, communicative, or effective, we would be happy to help you with that.
  2. You agree to, contact the student who you agreed to hire, five hours in advance of the agreed start time, and let them know that you no longer need help. Or, you may contact the student at a mutually agreeable time in advance of the job.
  3. You agree to be responsible with, and reachable via email and your cell phone, to answer any legitimate, pressing questions for any relevant contact with us and/or with the student.
  4. You agree to report any serious wrongdoing on the part of the student in a way that is constructive and honest, so that we may address and correct the problem. “Wrongdoing” on the part of the student does not include being marginally late. We ask that you use your best judgment.
